The Master's Programme Eurythmy in Schools and Society involves comprehensive study in the fundamentals of education and social art for eurythmy work in schools, kindergartens and cultural events. - Intensive mentoring and, above all, support for those entering a new career, including visits to lessons - Encouragement to reflect on your own practices - Intensive exploration of the role of mediator - Space for improving your understanding of job-specific and individual issues - In-depth study of eurythmy as art - Consolidation of professional and methodological practice - Confidence and new ideas for recipient-oriented, situation-based eurythmy mediation - Preparation for providing support in biography and professional development work with eurythmy - Training in the ability to perceive and shape social conditions - Admission requirements Master of Arts Completed university studies (B.A. Eurythmy or Bachelor, State Examination, Diploma, Magister or other plus a completed eurythmy training (recognized by the SRMK, Switzerland)) and a successful admission interview. Foreign applicants require proof of sufficient German language skills, both spoken and written. The language certificate can be submitted during the first year of study. • BAföG The eurythmy programme can be funded through BAföG. Funding for Students of Eurythmy Alanus University grants interest-free loans to eurythmy students. Funding is available from the 2nd academic year in the Bachelor's programme and from the 1st academic year in the Master's programme (full-time only). Deutschlandstipendium Alanus University also awards “Germany Scholarships” in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). • Eurythmy in Biography Work Eurythmists support children, youth, adults and seniors in their development, self-transformation and expansion of personal and social competencies. This work takes place in a variety of settings, such as kindergartens, youth centres, educational institutions, women's shelters, retirement homes, sports clubs, dance schools, clinics and prisons. Social art courses, interventions and projects can take place anywhere in public space. With a social focus we also work in preventive and follow-up care. The effects of social-artistic eurythmy are an increase in happiness and energy as well as a very practical anthroposophy through movement – overall it has a positive impact on artistic-aesthetic education and social integration. Language development, sensory training, the improvement of fine and gross motor skills, preventive health care, as well as grief counselling and terminal care are additional areas of work. Eurythmy in the Professional World Eurythmists work together with employees from all departments and management levels in companies, commercial enterprises, public and private facilities and institutions. In a nutshell: anywhere that requires innovative ideas and creativity or an improvement in the working atmosphere. Important aspects include preventive health care, boosted energy, and the balancing of one-sided work processes. The focus is also on promoting personal development and expanding professional and personal qualifications through training. We develop social competencies through team coaching, conflict management and communication training. Organisational development can be supported in management courses and through quality assurance eurythmy. We contribute to conferences and seminars by adding depth to topics through movement. Eurythmy in Culture and Society Movement, art and design – eurythmy performances with artists and amateurs take place both solo and in ensembles in public space and on stage. These events are held in cooperation with cultural and social services as well as a variety of sponsored institutions, or self-organised on stage or in natural settings. We also offer social-artistic courses and seminars as well as interdisciplinary projects with and without performances. Cultural pedagogical interventions, also with regard to intercultural exchange and contributions to overarching events, are further possibilities. Eurythmy is also performed as meditative and sacred dance.
Strong Relation to Practice Mentored practical phases, in which you plan, implement, evaluate and document projects in your professional field, are an integral component of the programme. You can also discuss specific issues that arise in the course of your daily work routine in class and receive tips on how to deal with current career challenges. The exchange of experience with colleagues combined with interdisciplinary seminar work and projects inspires new ideas and approaches in your own work. Individual Specialisation At the beginning of your studies, you can choose one of two main specialisations: "Eurythmy in Schools" or "Eurythmy in Society". You can then select the most suitable options for your focus from among the wide range of lectures and seminars on offer.
