1/15/2026The degree program is modular in design and is based on the university-wide standardized degree program structure with uniform module sizes (multiples of six credit points (LP)). The program combines the sub-disciplines of product development, materials and production of mechanical engineering and allows students to specialize in one of these directions. Due to the extensive freedom of choice, students can individualize their studies. In the common core qualification, students take the following modules: Students specialize by choosing one of the following technical specializations worth 36 credit points: Within each specialization, students are given three modules with six credit points. A further 18 credit points can be selected from a large subject-specific module catalog (module size of six credit points each). Alternatively, open modules with a maximum size of twelve credit points can be taken, in which a variety of specialized smaller courses - also taught by external lecturers from industry - can be individually combined.
